ModernTV Powers the Launch of Movistar GO, Venezuela’s New Streaming TV Service

Brno | Caracas – 19 November 2025 – ModernTV, a global provider of IPTV and OTT video platforms, has announced that its technology is powering Movistar GO, the new streaming television service launched by Movistar Venezuela at the Feria Internacional de Telecomunicaciones de Venezuela (Fitelven) 2025.

Presented in an immersive 3D and virtual reality experience at the Poliedro de Caracas, Movistar GO is designed to offer customers in Venezuela access to live TV channels, movies, series and premium content from a single app on their connected devices.

A streaming service designed for the Venezuelan market

Movistar GO is fully tailored to the Venezuelan audience, with:

  • A user-friendly interface, entirely in Spanish, optimized for local viewers.
  • Availability on a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs, enabling entertainment “anytime, anywhere”.
  • A content line-up that includes around 130 live channels plus additional premium signals, along with on-demand content.
  • Advanced viewing features such as pause and rewind of live TV for up to 24 hours, recording of favourite programmes, and up to five user profiles per account, enhancing the flexibility of the service for households.

These capabilities are enabled by ModernTV’s end-to-end IPTV/OTT platform, which provides the streaming, content management and multi-device user experience layer behind Movistar GO.

“Movistar GO marks a significant milestone for the Venezuelan TV market and we are honoured that Movistar chose ModernTV as the technology powering this new service,” said Roman Slavik, Head of Technology Sales at ModernTV. “Our focus has been to give Movistar a flexible, future-ready platform so they can deliver an entertainment experience that truly reflects the expectations of their customers in Venezuela,” he noted.

Strengthening Movistar’s strategy as an entertainment platform

The launch of Movistar GO represents a new chapter in Movistar Venezuela’s TV strategy, marking its return to the television business through a streaming-first, IP-based service, following the shutdown of its satellite TV (DTH) operation in 2022.

At Fitelven 2025, Movistar presented Movistar GO as part of its broader positioning as a digital entertainment platform, highlighting how the new app allows customers to enjoy live TV and on-demand content with more control, mobility and personalization.

Fitelven 2025 presentation and launch campaign

Movistar introduced Movistar GO at Fitelven 2025, held from 18–21 September 2025 at the Poliedro de Caracas, through an immersive stand experience featuring 3D visuals, interactive content and virtual reality demos that allowed visitors to explore the new app’s capabilities.

The launch has been accompanied by a communication campaign positioning Movistar GO as a central piece of Movistar’s digital entertainment offering in Venezuela, emphasizing the flexibility of streaming TV and the possibility to enjoy content across multiple screens.
